Shane Drohan is expected to start for Milwaukee and has provided dependable innings, while Ryan Johnson enters for Los Angeles with an ERA above 7.00. That starting-pitching mismatch should allow Milwaukee to establish an early advantage rather than relying on a late one-run victory.
The Brewers also have the deeper bullpen and more balanced offence. Milwaukee can score through power, walks, extra-base hits and aggressive baserunning, giving it several ways to extend the margin beyond one run.
Laying -1.5 runs on the road carries additional risk because the Brewers may only receive eight offensive innings if they are leading. However, the matchup is favourable enough to support the run-line selection.
