Seattle Mariners vs Texas Rangers Prediction, Picks & Odds

Match Preview

The Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers continue their four-game American League West series at Globe Life Field on Sunday, July 26, 2026. First pitch is scheduled for 2:35 p.m. ET.

Seattle is expected to start right-hander Logan Gilbert, while Texas counters with right-hander Jacob deGrom. Gilbert enters the matchup with an 8-6 record, a 3.38 ERA and 129 strikeouts. DeGrom carries a 7-6 record, a 3.76 ERA and 128 strikeouts into Sunday’s game.

The Rangers have won the first two games of the series and enter Sunday with considerable momentum. Texas followed Friday’s narrow victory with a convincing 7-1 win Saturday behind seven dominant innings from Nathan Eovaldi. The Rangers scored three times in the first inning and twice in the second to take immediate control.

Saturday’s victory moved Texas 2.5 games ahead of Seattle in the AL West. The Rangers have an opportunity to strengthen that advantage and secure at least a series victory with another home win Sunday.

Gilbert gives Seattle a strong chance to respond, but Texas has the deeper recent production, home-field advantage and a proven ace-level starter in deGrom. The Rangers are the preferred moneyline selection.

Seattle Mariners Analysis

Gilbert is the strongest reason to support Seattle in this matchup.

The right-hander owns the slightly lower ERA and has recorded one more strikeout than deGrom. His ability to work deep into games and limit free baserunners gives the Mariners an opportunity to slow down a Texas lineup that has produced 12 runs through the first two games of the series.

Gilbert must establish his command immediately. The Rangers attacked Bryan Woo early Saturday, scoring five times across the opening two innings. Joc Pederson, Wyatt Langford and Ezequiel Duran combined for eight hits, three RBIs and four runs during the victory.

Seattle cannot afford another early deficit. Falling behind would force the Mariners to chase deGrom while allowing Texas to control the pace of the game.

The Seattle offence must also provide considerably more support than it did Saturday. The Mariners managed only one run and three hits against Eovaldi, struggling to generate consistent pressure after Texas moved ahead.

Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodríguez remain capable of changing the game with one swing, but Seattle needs production throughout the lineup. Long at-bats and early baserunners will be essential against deGrom, who can dominate when pitching with a lead.

The Mariners’ best path to victory involves Gilbert matching deGrom through six innings and turning the matchup into a close bullpen battle.

Texas Rangers Analysis

DeGrom gives Texas another elite starting option one day after Eovaldi controlled Seattle.

The veteran enters with a 3.76 ERA and 128 strikeouts. His velocity, command and ability to finish at-bats give the Rangers a dependable foundation against a Mariners lineup that struggled badly Saturday.

DeGrom does not need to throw a complete-game shutout. Six quality innings should place Texas in a strong position, particularly if the Rangers continue producing early offence.

The Texas lineup enters Sunday with confidence after a complete performance Saturday. Pederson, Langford and Duran repeatedly reached base, while Evan Carter and Alejandro Osuna contributed additional RBIs during the later innings.

That lineup depth is important against Gilbert. Seattle’s starter has been dependable, so Texas cannot assume it will immediately create another large advantage. The Rangers should remain patient, work deep counts and capitalize whenever Gilbert leaves pitches over the middle of the plate.

Texas will be without Josh Jung, who was placed on the injured list with a left calf strain. Jung was batting .294 with nine home runs and 35 RBIs, so his absence removes an important hitter from the lineup. Josh Smith was recalled to provide additional infield depth.

Even without Jung, the Rangers have received enough production from several other hitters to remain dangerous. Their performance Saturday demonstrated that the lineup can succeed without depending entirely on one star.

Why We Like This Pick

The starting-pitching matchup is close, but Texas holds the advantage in momentum, home-field position and recent offensive execution.

Gilbert owns the slightly better ERA, so Seattle has a legitimate opportunity to end its losing streak. The Mariners should be much more competitive than they were Saturday if their starter performs near his season level.

However, Texas has won the first two games and has consistently produced the more effective at-bats. The Rangers have also received excellent starting pitching, with Eovaldi limiting Seattle to one run Saturday before deGrom takes the mound Sunday.

Seattle must prove it can generate enough offence against another accomplished starter. Texas has the deeper recent production and should be confident playing in front of its home crowd with an opportunity to extend its divisional lead.

The Rangers moneyline is preferred over the run line because Gilbert’s quality could keep the final margin narrow.

Final Prediction

Expect Gilbert and deGrom to control the opening innings, with scoring opportunities limited on both sides.

Seattle should perform better offensively than it did Saturday, but Texas’ lineup depth and home-field advantage should eventually create the decisive run. DeGrom provides another strong outing as the Rangers win their third consecutive game over the Mariners.

Final Score Prediction: Texas Rangers 4, Seattle Mariners 2
